Appointments may be made by telephoning 01252 541155, by calling in at the surgery or by booking online (for more information click here).
The surgery is open from 08.00 - 18:30, Monday to Friday, excluding Bank Holidays. The telephone lines are open from 08.30 -18:30 Please be aware that if you want to see a specific doctor, you may have to wait until their next routine appointent is available.
We run a triage system for our patients who wish to be seen on the day. You will receive a telephone call from one of our clinicians to speak to you about the problem and arrange best management. If you are offered an emergency appointment it may not be with your usual GP and you may see one of our nurse practitioners who can diagnose and prescribe.
If you do not want to be seen on the same day, there are a number of appointments that you can pre-book up two weeks in advance.
If you cannot keep an appointment, please inform us as soon as possible so that the appointment can be offered to another pateint.
Patients who do not attend appointments
The surgery is currently keeping records of the number pateints who Do Not Attend (DNA) appointments. This causes considerable inconvenience to both our doctors and nurses and costs the NHS as considerable amount of money each year in "lost appointments", which runs into Millions of pounds.
The surgery has the following DNA Policy in place:-
- Patients missing 1 appointment within a 12 month period will receive a warning letter informing them of our DNA Policy.
- Patients missing 2 appointments within the same 12 month period will receive a second warning letter explaining that failure to attend any further appointments may result in them being removed from the practice list.
- Patients missing 3 or more appointments within the same 12 month period will be discussed by the GP partners and a decision made as to whether the patient is removed from the list. Patients will receive a letter informing them of the decision.
If you are unable to attend an appointment we request 24 hours notice of cancellation. If an emergency situation means you cannot attend on the day, please phone the surgery as early as possible before the appointment time to let the reception team know you cannot attend. Cancellation within 15 minutes of the appointment time will still be recorded as DNA.
You are now able to book appointments online with Patient Access (https://www.patientaccess.com/)
Please ask at reception for details and a registration form.
The registration form provides all the information you need to register to use the Patient Access internet facility.
We will need to verify your identity, so please bring suitable photo ID (such as passport or driving licence) and evidence of your home address (such as a current bank statement or utility bill).
