When We Are Closed

NHS England and the local Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) have responsibility for providing medical services outside the normal surgery opening hours.

  • Monday to Friday: 6.30pm to 8.00am
  • Weekends:  Friday 6.30pm to 8.00am Monday morning
  • Bank Holidays

From 22nd January 2013 the Out of Hours service has been replaced with the NHS 111 service which is a new service that's being introduced to make it easier for you to access local NHS healthcare services. You can call 111 when you need medical help fast but it’s not a 999 emergency. NHS 111 is a fast and easy way to get the right help, whatever the time

Should you need to speak to a doctor or nurse when the surgery is closed call 111 from your landline.

Your call will be taken by a trained operator at a local call centre who will take some personal details and basic information about your problem.

They may:

  • Offer advice over the telephone
  • Tell you to go to a Primary Care Centre
  • Offer a home visit
  • Call an ambulance
